Coggins International Gets Hands On in Atlanta

Atlanta, GA - June 15, 2012 - Joe Quintero, Executive Assistant and Systems Analyst at Coggins International, took part in a country-wide charity event, benefitting Hands On Atlanta, with local business partner Embassy Suites Buckhead (Hilton Worldwide). Embassy Suites has been an important part of Coggins International's Training program, providing approximately 8,000 room nights per year for their students along with exceptional customer service. We feel it is absolutely critical for local businesses to support the community and didn't hesitate when asked to participate in Hilton Worldwide's event, said Jula Jane, President and CEO of Coggins International. Our partnership with Embassy Suites has aided many charitable events and will continue to do so in the future. In collaboration with Hands On Atlanta, 100 volunteers enhanced the environment of the Benteen Elementary school in downtown Atlanta by creating play areas for children, revitalizing the hallways and cleaning up and painting the outside playground.

After a fun ride on traditional school buses, Angela Meese of Embassy Suites and Joe Quintero assembled in the auditorium with the other volunteers where they were split into three separate crews: Playground, Hallway Revitalization, and Painting & Cleanup. When given the choice, Joe and Angela jumped at the chance for playground work and immediately got busy with a sledgehammer and paint brushes. The day was a great success with six brand-new, freshly painted picnic tables, a brightly colored hopscotch game, numerous bean-bag toss games, and a horseshoe ring to boot. After cleanup, the volunteers reassembled for one last picture and a big thank you from Hands On Atlanta and their affiliate, Points of Light.
