Atlanta, GA - October 18, 2013 – Coggins International today announced the delivery of a mission critical Computer Based Training (CBT) course: Guide for Energy Convergence Rollout, to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). This latest CBT was developed in record time to assist DLA with its urgent need for a training tool for the upcoming Rollout 3 of Energy Convergence within DLA's SAP-based Enterprise Business System (EBS). This rollout will begin on December 1, 2013 and encompasses over 300 Defense Fuel Support Points (DFSPs) the largest rollout to date.
EBS Energy Convergence is Priority One for DLA Energy and its upper management. DLA Energy began implementing Energy Convergence to the DFSPs on March 1, 2013 through what is referred to as rollouts. Unfortunately, there were many startup problems throughout the first two rollouts in Alaska and the U.S. West regions (approximately 160 DFSPs), most notably attributed to training deficiencies. It became very apparent to DLA and all concerned that a CBT would be required and Coggins International was tasked, noting a strong sense of urgency.
Coggins International's CBT development team took this opportunity to implement its new instructor-led CBT concept, which provides the student with the feeling of a one-on-one lesson from an expert. This allows the student to develop a relationship with the instructor and a sense of trust. One common thread we found during our research is that people prefer shorter bursts of knowledge presented clearly and full of real-world live exampless, said Mark Stout, CBT Development Manager. I believe we struck gold with this model for DLA Energy. I am surprised that it has not been done before, but am honored that Coggins International is the pioneer for this model for DLA. Although this was a huge undertaking, the team worked together with DLA Energy building an entire CBT in just a few weeks, a task that normally takes months to complete.
DLA was extremely pleased with the result, as evidenced by these quotes from Michael Broderick, Director of Business Process Support, This is just outstanding work and really appreciated! and Eric Basile, Chief of Business Systems Sustainment Office, Amazing job guys!! I LOVED the opening sequence. In response, Scott Pustejovsky, Coggins International Training Coordination Manager, said, I am humbled and elated by such positive feedback, but the most important accolade for me is that we provided support to DLA in a way that no one else could and delivered a quality product to the Warfighter in record time. They will benefit greatly from our efforts and that makes the around the clock effort more than worth our while.
